Who accompanies me on site?

A member of the NovaLink team who has read your file: the same person prepares the trip and accompanies you. You speak to them in Darija, Arabic or French, and our Chinese colleagues lead the negotiation with suppliers in Mandarin.

Are flights and hotel included in the price?

No. We book them for you and they are invoiced at actual cost plus 12%, on their own line, separate from the preparation fee and the days on site. Everything is paid in dirhams, in Morocco, to NovaLink Global Solutions. You see the full estimate before you commit.

How far in advance should I book?

Six to eight weeks before a Canton Fair session: hotels, badges and factory appointments become scarce as the fair approaches. Outside fair season, three to four weeks is usually enough. Include the visa in that time frame: usually 7 days, with the decision always resting with the Chinese consulate.

Who can enter the fair halls with me?

Anyone who accompanies you in the halls, including our team, must have a companion badge, and only you, as the foreign buyer, can apply for it. You are entitled to two companions per phase, an assistant and an interpreter, and the interpreter badge requires a recognised Chinese interpreting qualification. Applications close two days before your day at the fair. We prepare the file, you submit it.

I already have suppliers to visit: is it cheaper?

Yes. We skip the search and go straight to verification and visits. The preparation fee goes down accordingly: it is priced on the work that actually remains to be done.

Is the preparation fee lost if I order afterwards?

No. If you place a production order through NovaLink within the 12 months following the trip, the preparation fee is deducted from our commission.

Canton Fair: which phase for your products.

The Canton Fair is held twice a year in Guangzhou, at the Pazhou complex, in three phases of five days. Each phase shows different products: come in the wrong phase and you find halls without what you buy. The split of products stays the same from one session to the next.

Phase 1: Electronics and household appliances, machinery, vehicles and two-wheelers, lighting, electrical equipment, hardware and tools, new materials
Phase 2: Furniture, building materials, sanitary ware, ceramics, household goods, kitchenware, gifts and decoration, gardening
Phase 3: Fashion and textiles, shoes and leather goods, toys and baby products, medical devices and health, personal care and beauty, sports and leisure, pet supplies, stationery, food
When: Two sessions a year: in spring, from April to May, and in autumn, from October to November. We give you the exact dates of the next session as soon as the organiser publishes them.

Preparation: From $1,200 per project, quoted in advance: supplier search and filtering, certificate checks, scoring grid, agenda set, travel file. The price depends on how technical your product is.
Days on site: From $450 per working day: fair, factory visits, negotiation in Mandarin, written debrief every evening. Travel within Guangdong is included.
Flights and hotel: Booked by NovaLink, invoiced at actual cost plus 12%, on their own line.
Payment: The whole trip is invoiced in dirhams by NovaLink Global Solutions, in Morocco: preparation, days on site, flights and hotel. Dollar prices are converted at the exchange rate on the invoice date.
Business visa: MAD 3,000 all inclusive, consular fees included, invoiced in dirhams by NovaLink Global Solutions, in Morocco.
Fair badges: Buyer badge free. Companion badge: RMB 300 per person per day, plus RMB 50 badge fee, set by the fair.

You give us the product and the dates
On WhatsApp: what you want to buy, the quantities, and when you can travel. Allow six to eight weeks before a Canton Fair session.

We filter, you approve
Request for quotation sent to suppliers, factories told apart from trading companies, a scored shortlist. You choose who is worth your time before anything is booked.

Visa, flights and hotel
We prepare and submit your visa application, then we book your flights and your hotel.

On site
Fair halls, production workshops, Foshan showrooms. We negotiate in Mandarin, and every evening you receive the day's decisions and the next day's programme in writing.

After the trip
You leave with a written agreement in principle with the chosen supplier, samples and a report. If you wish, the same team then follows up the samples, quality control and shipping.

Good to know

The fair to cover ground, the factories to decide.

The Canton Fair lets you meet, in a few days, suppliers you would never have found online. But the prices quoted at the fair are usually higher than factory prices, and a large share of the exhibitors are trading companies. We use the fair days to cover ground, then spend the rest of the week in the factories, most of them less than an hour from Guangzhou by high-speed train.

You do not have to come during the fair. It is worth the trip when you want to discover a category you do not know yet. If you already know your product and your suppliers, the fair takes one or two days of your week, and the rest belongs to the factories. Outside fair weeks, hotels cost much less and factories have more time for you.
